Hey I'm still alive!!!
Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I posted but I'm still alive and going well! So much has happened in my life since my last post!I got ENGAGED in Nov! I'm so excited. Our wedding is set for May 15, 2010. Time is really flying by so I have been very busy working on all the details of the wedding. You can check out our wedding website if you like http://www.matthewandshelly.com/
planning a wedding is MUCH more work than I ever expected and our wedding is a small one so I can't even imagine planning a large one. It's been fun tho and for the first time in my life, I will wear an actual wedding dress and walk down the aisle. I'm so very happy and so excited for our big day!
At some point in the beginning of Nov. my fiance also hurt his back. After weeks of going to see different Dr's. they finally determined that he needed back surgery so he had that on Dec. 28th. and was recovering.
So all of that along with the holidays really took up my time. I actually didn't step foot into a gym in like 1½ months! YIKES!! We are both back and going now but let me tell you, it's like starting all over. I have muscles in my body that HURT!! But it's feeling good to be back! We are at a new gym now (Gold's Gym in Kansas City) and I really like it. It's much larger than our old gym and has a lot more equipment. I'm also back to eating better. Not doing any "diet" per say, just eating less and better options. I find that works the best for me. I would love nothing more than to go on a strict diet and really lean up fast but it just isn't going to happen and I have come to terms with that so I'll do just do what I know works for me! :)
So I hope to be back to posting more often here and sharing things with you all. I really need to find some new and yummy recipes so I'll be sure to share them when I do. I'll also sneak in some wedding stuff too :)
Hope all is going well for everyone!!!

Just Checking In...
WOW, why is it so hard to stay on track? UghhhI have no problems working out but diet is so hard and let's just say the past few days I haven't been doing well. I have had a few "good" meals here and there but I've also ate out several times. It's been so frustrating to me. I LOVE food and I love food as a form of entertaining so that makes it really hard when you are trying to shed some weight. :(
But I'm not giving up, I'm going to keep on going and keep doing my best. Like I said, I have no problems working out. I love that. In fact I spent 3 hours at the gym today doing cardio and weights. Had an Awesome workout! I tried a new cardio routine today on the treadmill and I really liked it. It's a booty workout and goes like this:
5 min. warm-up at 3.5
2 mins. at 4.0
2 mins. at 4.0 with 2 incline
2 mins at 4.0
2 mins at 4.0 with 4 incline
2 mins at 4.0
2 mins at 4.0 with 6 incline
2 mins at 4.0
2 mins. at 4.0 with 4 incline
2 mins at 4.0
2 mins at 4.0 with 2 incline
then I did a warm-down at 3.5 for 5 mins.
It was a really awesome cardio workout and I could feel it in my legs and booty! But I didn't stop there, I decided to also throw in some HIIT cardio and alternated between 3.5 and 6.5 every min. for about 8 more mins. It was a Great workout! I'm going to do this for awhile and see what results I can get with it.
Well I've had a long day and really need to hit the bed. My son has a football game tomorrow and we have to be there at 9:30 am. Fun!! :) Not sure if I'll check in over the weekend so if not, have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Today's Eats
Hello and Happy Sunday! Just dropping in quick to check in and post my eats for the day! I'm tired and ready for bed. It's been a long weekend! We went to the gym today, it was leg day and boy was it hard. My first leg day since being back from Vegas. I can already tell they are going to be hurting tomorrow. We also did 30 mins. of cardio.
Today my food was as follows:
Breakfast:Sausage Egg McMuffin (the healthier version)
This was really good. I took a whole wheat (100 calorie) english muffin and toasted it, then added scrambled egg whites and a Jimmy Dean turkey sausage patty and a slice of 2% cheese and put it all together. Was really easy and alot better for you than the fast-food chain version.
Morning Snack:Banana w/natural peanut butter
Lunch:Grilled chicken breast and green beans
After-noon Snack:none
Dinner:
Chili Dog Casserole
This is an old WW recipe I had. I made it for the kids tonight as they love it and just decided to eat it myself. I'll post the recipe within the next couple days. (too tired to type it all out now :)
Ok off to bed! Have a Great night everyone!
